The best piece of advice ever given was by the art director of Harper's Bazaar, Alexey Brodovitch, to the young Richard Avedon, destined to become one of the world's great photographers. The advice was simple: 'ASTONISH ME.' Bear these words in mind, and whatever you do will be creative.

I have been a fan of Martin Bailey for quite some time now. I first learned of Martin through his involvement as a co-host on TWiP, and that led me to seek out his own podcast. His images are what really fascinates though. I would think that his signature work is Snow Monkeys, and the image below is a great example of that:

Be sure to go check out the rest of Martin's fantastic work. You can find out more about him on his website, Martin Bailey Photography, on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.

For me the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity, the master of the instant which, in visual terms, questions and decides simultaneously. In order to “give a meaning” to the world, one has to feel involved in what one frames through the viewfinder. This attitude requires concentration, discipline of mind, sensitivity, and a sense of geometry. It is by economy of means that one arrives at simplicity of expression.

Just last week we spoke about creativity and the importance and rarity of its existance. Martine Roche is a particularly special person when it comes to creativity. After all, we have all thought about how some animals seem to go with some humans, and perhaps we have even played with morphing the pictures, but Martine has done so much more, and her work is absolutely incredible. Take a look at just this one picture:

Doesn't that bring a smile to your face? I encourage you to check more of her work out at her website Martine Roch Studio, at her Facebook Page, or on Twitter.
